RV rollover in south Buckeye leaves 1 dead, 2 injured

A recreational vehicle towing an SUV crashed in south Buckeye today leaving one dead and two injured.

Traffic was halted in south Buckeye after a crash involving an RV towing an SUV killed one and injured two Monday morning, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesperson Bart Graves told InBuckeye the collision happened around 11:30 a.m. on SR-85 near milepost 142. One individual was flown to a Phoenix hospital and later pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle, described as a male, is in critical condition, according to Graves. Another female sustained non-life-threatening lacerations.

Officials are investigating if tire failure or the SUV tow contributed to the RV losing control.

ADOT had closed northbound lanes of SR 85 near Buckeye Hills Drive but has since reopened them.

  1. Michael, Do you have the identities of the people? We are Beaver owners and would like to be there if they are “family”. Even if they aren’t, a word of encouragement would be nice.
