21st annual Glow on Monroe Parade returns to Buckeye

The 21st annual Glow on Monroe Parade is set to light up Buckeye on Saturday, Dec. 14, featuring a lively evening of holiday displays, classic cars, imaginative floats, and vibrant performances in downtown's heart.

The parade will begin at 6:30 p.m., starting at Second Street and making its way to Eason Avenue. This year marks the second time the City of Buckeye has organized the event, which was previously run by the Buckeye Mainstreet Coalition. Approximately 75 local organizations will participate, ensuring a vibrant community celebration.

While the parade has been expanded and updated, the city has worked to preserve its core tradition. Efforts have been made to balance the community’s expectations while accommodating the city’s growing population.

The parade will feature more than 100 vehicles, along with a variety of floats, performers, and marching bands. After the parade, visitors can meet Santa and take photos in front of the 32-foot holiday tree at Sixth Street Plaza.

A master of ceremonies will announce each parade entry as it passes by. The parade is expected to last about an hour, with Santa’s grand entrance marking the conclusion, arriving aboard a Buckeye firetruck.

The parade is sponsored by Arizona Public Service, which serves over 1.4 million Arizonans. APS, a longtime supporter of the event, will showcase a decorated service vehicle in the parade. Local schools, businesses, and organizations will also contribute to the event, adding to its festive atmosphere.
