Miller Road is closed between Baseline Road and Maricopa Road as police investigate a crash at Cholla Ranch Apartments. The incident involved a driver crashing a car into an apartment unit before fleeing the scene.
According to police reports, the crash did not injure anyone inside the apartment. However, residents in a nearby unit suffered minor injuries from broken glass. Officers have since located and detained the driver. Buckeye Fire personnel are evaluating at least one passenger in the vehicle for injuries.
The crash has sparked conversation among residents on social media. Nathan Wood commented on the Buckeye Police Department’s Facebook page, mentioning a car "zipping around Buckeye, weaving in and out of traffic" with a license plate beginning with "MZ." Another resident, LuLu DeSomma, questioned the speed and trajectory of the vehicle, stating, “That lil car has to be going fairly fast and catch some good air. Where did it come from? Cause I don't see any bushes ripped out?”
Authorities are continuing their investigation, and traffic remains restricted in the area. Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes.
