The Buckeye Police Department has launched a separate Facebook page for missing persons alerts and case updates.
Police will use the page to share active bulletins, new information, and updates when missing people are located.
The department will continue to notify news organizations directly through email alerts in accordance with state law.
Police also said the missing persons bulletin for Giovanni Tapia-Mesa remains active. Detectives continue to investigate several tips and leads in the case.
Arizona had nearly 1,100 open missing-person cases listed in the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System in early March 2026. NamUs is a federal database that contains published unresolved cases. Its total does not necessarily represent every missing-person report filed with Arizona law enforcement agencies.
Nationally, law enforcement agencies entered 533,936 missing-person records into the FBI’s National Crime Information Center during 2024. Agencies also cleared or canceled 537,446 records during the same year. People may be removed from the database after they are found, return home, or authorities determine that a record is invalid.
The FBI reported 88,093 active missing-person records nationwide as of Dec. 31, 2025. People younger than 18 accounted for 21,487 of those records, or about 24%. The FBI also reported that law enforcement agencies entered 498,038 missing-person records into the database during 2025 and cleared or removed 503,409 records.
The department encourages residents and media partners to follow the new Facebook page for future notifications.
