A semi-truck driver who reportedly caused a rolled over crash on I-10 Friday did so while four times the legal limit of alcohol, according to the Department of Public Safety.
Multiple Arizona State Troopers responded to an attempt to locate a black semi-truck reported driving all over the road and almost striking other vehicles, according to a social media post by AZDPS Highway Patrol.
Troopers found the semi-truck, driven by Jasbir Singh of Fresno, Calif., on Eastbound I-10 driving all over the road and running vehicles off the road.
When troopers turned on their emergency lights to pull over the 42-year-old driver, the truck suddenly veered across all lanes of traffic and struck an Isuzu truck just west of Verrado Way, causing it to roll over.
The Isuzu driver was injured in the crash, and troopers noted the semi-truck driver “displayed numerous signs and symptoms of impairment.”
The semi-truck driver was transported to the hospital, where medical blood tests revealed he had a blood-alcohol concentration of .347. He was placed under arrest and booked on charges of DUI liquor, extreme DUI, endangerment and reckless driving.
