Buckeye police make heroin bust

[Buckeye Police Department]
A Buckeye police officer pulled over a driver March 6 and found he had a gun he wasn’t supposed to have, plus a variety of illegal drugs including more than a pound of heroin.
The officer stopped 50-year-old Gabriel Herrera near 4th Ave and Alarcon, just before 5 p.m., for failing to stop at a stop sign and other civil traffic violations, according to Buckeye Police Department. Herrera reportedly denied having any weapons in the truck, but as he got out, a revolver fell to the ground. During a search of the vehicle, officers found meth, approximately 100 fentanyl pills, and bags of dark colored rocks that were tested and confirmed as 1.3 lbs. of heroin. Herrera, a prohibited possessor of a firearm, was arrested on drugs and weapons charges.
