Buckeye Fire Medical Rescue Department responded to two, simultaneous residential house fires on Sunday night.
The first occurred at 20011 N. 273rd Ln. in the Festival community following propane explosions. One resident received burns to approximately 25% of their body on their arms and legs. They were transported to the hospital.
The second fire occurred in the garage of 25820 W. St. Catherine Ave. in the Sunset Vista community. The garage was "rapidly knocked down" and the fire quickly came under control. There were no injuries reported at the time.
Investigations of both incidents are ongoing. Surprise Fire Department aided in the response.
