Working for the City of Buckeye might be the key to a nice salary bump.
A total of 320 municipal workers saw their annual pay checks top $100,000 this fiscal year, according to public records request obtained by InBuckeye. Of those 320 employees, 26 made at least $200,000.
The city employed more than 1,100 workers this fiscal year, although it did not specify the number of salaried workers.
City Manager Daniel Cotterman remained the top paid employee in the city, earning about $389,000. Three deputy city managers also were among the top ten highest paid employees, with salaries starting at $236,000.
Other top earners included Buckeye’s police and fire chiefs, attorney Kenneth McCoy, Presiding Judge John Burkholder, Aviation Director Scott Lowe and Community Services Director Miranda Gomez.
The public records request also showed the city also gave out $146,000 in bonuses to 39 employees, ranging from $1,000 to $8,000. Details regarding the reason for the bonuses were not provided.
In June, Buckeye City Council approved the 2025 budget, which included $123.7 million for personnel compensation. This includes salaries and hourly wages, retirement, healthcare and other benefits.

We are just barely over 100,000 residents and we are paying New York salaries
Now we know why they always want yes votes on the ballot’s come voting time and why our tax keep going up. If anybody should be paid higher wages, it should be first responders.
Ridiculous this city of Buckeye needs alot of work to be cleaned up. Main Street is a joke. The amount of empty buildings but yet we continue to build homes. We need sit down restaurants no more fast foods. No more car washes. Let pay attention to what we have and clean up our city.you people just keep padding your pockets on our dime.
When voting this year but no on the bond
Don’t spend your tax dollars in buckeye
Residence in New York City 8.258 million and the mayor of New York City yearly salary is $258,000 🤔. Buckeye residents in 2023 108,000 with the buckeye city manager making $389,000.
