The Buckeye City Council held the first of two public hearings on Nov. 18 for a small land annexation along Tuthill Road. At its regular meeting, the Council also postponed another public hearing on a renovation to allow a downtown child care center.
Tuthill Road Annexation

It was the first of two public hearings for the annexation, which “will allow for the future dedication and improvement of right-of-way, which will be necessary for development of the adjacent Mountain View South property," according to the city document.
The thin strip of land is zoned Rural-43 (RU-43) by the county and would be designated as Single Family Residential 43 (R1-43) by the City of Buckeye, if annexed. No further rezoning needs are anticipated, said principal planner Mandy Woods at the meeting.
The second hearing and potential approval motion by the council is scheduled for the Dec. 16 meeting.
Downtown Rezoning Postponement

The Planning and Zoning Commission will also conduct a public hearing at its regular Nov. 25 meeting and issue a recommendation of further action to Council.
