An approved contract purchase addendum with Delaware-based Axon Enterprises Inc. secures body-worn cameras for the Buckeye Police Department in the following year.

The approximately $486,500 contract includes purchasing the cameras and accessories along with equipment operating services provided through Axon Enterprises. The total was included in BPD's fiscal-year 2026 budget.

According to city documents, the body-worn cameras (BWCs) "record significant events such as arrests or use-of-force incidents; reduce unfounded complaints through objective video evidence; accelerate and improve the accuracy of internal investigations; support better decision-making and conduct under pressure; monitor adherence to department protocols; and streamline courtroom processes by providing firsthand visual accounts."

The purchase was unanimously approved in the consent agenda at the July 1 regular Buckeye City Council meeting.
