The Congress took place from June 25 to 27, 2025, at the University of Massachusetts Lowell near Boston. It brought together top high school students from across the nation. These students have shown exceptional academic achievement, strong leadership skills, and a clear commitment to careers in medicine or medical research.

Nobel Prize-winning scientist Dr. Mario Capecchi, who serves as Science Director of the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists, personally signed Aquino’s nomination. This honor reflects her academic excellence and her dedication to serving humanity through medicine.

During the three-day event, Aquino attended presentations by Nobel Laureates and National Medal of Science recipients. She also gained advice from Ivy League and top medical school deans. In addition, she heard moving stories from patients considered medical miracles. She connected with other teen prodigies and learned about groundbreaking advances in medical science and technology.

Her mother Jaclyn Aquino believes this recognition is a source of pride for both their family and the Buckeye community. Furthermore, they say it serves as inspiration for other young people. “Being nominated two years in a row is rare and speaks volumes about Annieah’s drive, passion, and dedication,” they said.

The National Academy continues to mentor and guide its delegates after the event. It provides networking opportunities, skill development programs, and career planning resources year-round. Moreover, the Academy was founded to identify and support young medical talent as early as possible, preparing them for the challenges of medical school and beyond.
