Earl Edgar Park could soon serve up two new pickleball courts as part of a sweeping renovation proposal submitted to the City of Buckeye, according to planning documents obtained by InBuckeye.
The popular courts are among several new amenities outlined in a pre-application that also includes a dog park, fitness stations, and improvements to existing sports facilities. The plan proposes enhancements to baseball, softball, and multi-use fields, as well as the installation of new batting cages at all four diamonds, according to records.
The project would add sidewalks, shaded ramadas, and upgrade the central restroom. A new 136-space parking lot is proposed on the side of the park, while repairs are planned for existing lots.
The city is also considering IT and infrastructure upgrades, including security cameras, badge-access systems, and expanded electrical capacity to meet future community needs better.
Separately, the proposal includes extending the parking lot at the nearby Senior Center, using a 0.05-acre space north of the existing lot. The expansion would incorporate lighting, landscaping, and stormwater retention.
The proposal remains in the preliminary review stage and has not yet been scheduled for a formal city review or public input.
