National chicken tender chain Raising Cane’s has begun construction on its first Buckeye location along Verrado Way, marking another major step in the city’s growing commercial corridor.

The restaurant site at 1080 N. Verrado Way, within the Buckeye Commons retail center just south of Interstate 10 and west of Costco, is quickly taking shape. Photos from the construction site show wooden framing and structural beams going vertical, signaling steady progress toward completion. Company representatives said the project remains on schedule for a summer 2026 opening.

“Raising Cane’s is excited to continue our expansion in Phoenix and bring our ONE LOVE® craveable Chicken Finger Meals to Buckeye,” a company spokesperson said.

The Louisiana-based brand, founded in 1996 and named after co-founder Todd Graves’ Labrador Retriever, has grown to more than 700 restaurants nationwide. Known for its simple menu of chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast, and Cane’s Sauce, the chain has developed a strong late-night following with hours often extending past midnight.

In past grand openings, Raising Cane’s has hosted community giveaways, including free meals for a year to select customers. Representatives have not yet confirmed if Buckeye’s debut will feature similar promotions.

The new restaurant joins several national retailers and dining options along Verrado Way and within Buckeye Commons, a retail area experiencing rapid growth as new neighborhoods and commercial projects continue to expand near the city’s hospital and Interstate 10.
