Buckeye police have identified the man killed during an early-morning shooting in Sienna Hills as 36-year-old David Washington.
Police identified the suspect as 22-year-old Jesus Lastra Perez. Perez was booked into the Maricopa County jail on a homicide charge and additional felony charges, according to the Buckeye Police Department’s update.
Police said Perez is the son of Washington’s ex-wife. He is not the boyfriend of Washington’s 17-year-old daughter. The teenage girl was also shot during the incident. Officers treated her wounds until paramedics arrived and took her to a hospital. Police described her injuries as non-life-threatening.
The investigation remains ongoing.
