A total of 271,051 votes were cast in Maricopa County's District 4, which contains Buckeye, to determine who will represent much of the West Valley on the county board of supervisors until 2028.
The candidates for the district are U.S. Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-Ariz.), also a former Peoria lawmaker for close to a decade, and David Sandoval (D-Peoria) who is president of Blender Marketing Group and clerk of the Peoria Unified District Governing Board.
Election results so far show Lesko leading Sandoval with 139,168 votes, or 57.4% while Sandoval has 103,114 votes, or 42.7%.
