The Arizona Department of Transportation announced that both directions of Interstate 10 will be closed between Avondale Boulevard and 75th Avenue this weekend for pavement marking work.
Eastbound I-10 will close from 9 p.m. tonight to 10 a.m. tomorrow. Crews will also close the Fairway Drive on-ramp and the southbound Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) ramp to eastbound I-10. Drivers should exit at Avondale Boulevard and use McDowell Road or Van Buren Street to reach 75th Avenue. Loop 101 drivers can exit onto McDowell Road and rejoin I-10 east of the closure.
Westbound I-10 will close between 75th Avenue and Avondale Boulevard from 9 p.m. tomorrow to 10 a.m. Sunday. The northbound Loop 202 (South Mountain Freeway) ramp to westbound I-10, the 67th Avenue on-ramp, and the southbound Loop 101 ramp to westbound I-10 also will be closed.
Drivers heading westbound can exit at 75th Avenue and take McDowell Road or Van Buren Street to Avondale Boulevard to reconnect with I-10. Loop 202 and Loop 101 drivers should use nearby surface streets to reach I-10 west of the closure.
ADOT urges drivers to slow down, merge early, and use caution near all work zones.
