A buzz filled the air this morning as the first customers lined up for the grand opening of Nothing Bundt Cakes at the new Buckeye Commons retail center, marking the city’s first location for the popular national bakery chain.
The owners kept the fanfare simple, skipping a ribbon-cutting ceremony and instead opening the doors to cheers from a crowd that had gathered well before the 10 a.m. opening. Bakeries in the chain often attract loyal followings, and today was no exception, with a line of more than 70 eager customers snaking around the storefront along Roosevelt Street.

A construction spokesperson told InBuckeye in mid-May that the store would open around June 13. The bakery later confirmed that grand opening festivities would be held on July 5. Owner-operator Rob Kelly said he decided on a multi-day celebration to accommodate the expected rush.
“We had planned to hold our grand opening for Saturday, June 21, but we’ve had to change those plans due to factors beyond our control,” Kelly said. “Our grand opening week will now be held June 30 through July 5, with the grand opening day on Saturday.”
The menu features a dozen flavors, including red velvet, chocolate chocolate chip, white chocolate raspberry, lemon blueberry, strawberries and cream, confetti, Oreo cookies and cream, and lemon — all topped with the bakery’s signature cream cheese frosting.
