Former Buckeye state Sen. Sine Kerr’s selection as gubernatorial candidate Andy Biggs’ running mate is drawing support from two West Valley lawmakers.
InBuckeye contacted the four state representatives and two state senators representing Buckeye and asked for their reactions to the announcement. State Senator (R-25) Tim Dunn and Arizona State Representative Nick Kupper (R–25) responded.

What was your first reaction to the announcement?
When Sine called me to relay the news, I was overwhelmed with joy. I told her I'm excited for her and the State of Arizona.
How do you believe Sine Kerr complement Andy Biggs on the ticket?
Andy Biggs' legislative and congressional experience makes him ready to govern on day one, as made evident by his choice of Sine Kerr for Lt. Governor. Her gift of really listening to evaluate what's being presented to make the best policy decision, coupled with her rural credibility, legislative experience and agricultural expertise, compliments Biggs and creates a win-win for all of Arizona.
What role do you see her playing as lieutenant governor if elected?
Since this is the first time Arizona will be selecting a lieutenant governor, the role really is a blank slate. With all the experience, leadership and expertise Sine Kerr brings to the table, she, along with Andy Biggs, will craft the role to have a broad scope that brings together all facets of government to make the 9th Floor more effective for all the citizens of Arizona.
What should Buckeye residents expect if she is elected?
They should expect her to continue to live her core beliefs, which are being true to faith, family, freedom and continuing to fight for the citizens of Buckeye.
What does it mean for Buckeye to have someone with such deep local roots on a statewide ticket?
Buckeye residents will now have the sense of connectivity in a statewide office that they experienced during her seven years at the Legislature.
Do you believe her selection could benefit Buckeye or the West Valley? If so, how?
The chief issues that affect the West Valley are growth, water, agriculture and the military. Her life and legislative experience with all these issues will now be served directly in the Governor's office.

I was very pleased to see a member of our Ag community chosen.
How do you believe Sine Kerr complement Andy Biggs on the ticket?
Other than the obvious of being a female, she is from a different community and side of Arizona.
What role do you see her playing as lieutenant governor if elected?
Senator Kerr is extremely well versed and would be an asset to any role in the executive branch.
What should Buckeye residents expect if she is elected?
Buckeye residents should expect someone who is intimately knowledgeable of their needs and it will be great to see representation from The fastest growing part of Arizona.

Her selection won’t just benefit Buckeye and the west valley, she is a great asset to the entire state. But being such a longtime resident of Buckeye she will benefit them by bringing their unique concerns to executive tower.
