A driver was arrested Wednesday after allegedly speeding 116 mph on Interstate 10 near the AZ-303 interchange in Buckeye, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Trooper Lough said he clocked the vehicle on lidar and stopped it at Bullard Avenue. The driver told the trooper he was hurrying home because his dog had gotten out — though the direction he was traveling wasn’t toward his home, authorities noted.
He was arrested and booked into jail.
