At 5 p.m. yesterday, Buckeye Fire Medical Rescue Department along with units from AFMA worked to extinguish a house fire at 504 E. South Ave. in Buckeye.
The fire started in a "porta potty" and extended to a residential occupancy, officials said.
Firefighters gained fire control quickly and while overhauling the structure a Buckeye firefighter contacted a live wire and was electrocuted. The firefighter is stable after being transported to a Valley Wise burn center for definitive medical evaluation.
Three family members have been displaced. Red Cross is assisting with securing shelter.
The cause and origin are under investigation.
