The Buckeye City Council will meet Tuesday, Aug. 4, to canvass and adopt the results of the July 21 primary election.
The meeting begins at 3:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 530 E. Monroe Ave. The city will open the doors at least 15 minutes before the meeting.
Under Resolution No. 77-26, the council will consider certifying the election results for council districts 4, 5, and 6. Each councilmember will serve a term ending in 2030.
Arizona law requires the council to canvass the election between six and 20 days after Election Day. After the council adopts the results, candidates who received the required majority will receive certificates of election.
The election canvass is one of three items on the consent agenda. The council will also consider two new liquor license applications.
Salt Tacos y Tequila has requested a Series 12 restaurant liquor license for its location at 1509 N. Verrado Way, Suite 104. The city legally posted the application, and the required departments reviewed and approved it.
Aldi has requested a Series 10 beer-and-wine store license for its location at 19605 W. Indian School Road. The city also posted that application, and the required departments reviewed and approved it.

The council can approve all three consent agenda items with one vote unless a councilmember requests a separate discussion. The council may take the items in a different order and will adjourn after completing its scheduled business.
