Buckeye residents with a passion for leadership, service and civic engagement now have the chance to step inside the engine of their growing city.
The city is accepting applications for the Buckeye Civic Institute, an 11 week leadership program designed to cultivate informed, proactive community members. Participants will spend the first quarter of 2026 learning how the city operates while building connections with fellow residents who care about Buckeye’s future.
Sessions will feature in depth looks at city departments, discussions on local challenges and opportunities, and tours of key facilities. The program’s focus is to help residents better understand how Buckeye functions, what issues it faces and how community leaders can play a role in shaping solutions. By the end, graduates are expected to be able to define their role as leaders in the community and contribute meaningfully to civic life.
Classes are held Thursday evenings at 5:30 p.m. from Jan. 8 to March 19, 2026, at various locations throughout the city. Space is limited. Applications are due by Wednesday, Dec. 10.
