A new analysis, based on U.S. Census housing data since 2015, ranks Buckeye among the top 10 U.S. towns with the highest share of new homes built.
The analysis looks at towns with populations between 30,000 and 200,000 residents, focusing on the percentage of units built since 2015 to the most recent data release in 2022.
Buckeye ranked fourth nationally at 57%, with Queen Creek trailing behind at seventh at 51%. Utah had three towns within the top ten, and Texas had two.
"Located on the edge of Phoenix, Buckeye is one of the fastest-growing cities in America," writes the researcher on an AnyHOA blog post. "Rows of brand-new homes stretch into the desert, offering affordability just outside the metro hustle."
In 2023, SmartAsset, a financial tech company, released a list of the fastest-growing cities in the United States. Buckeye ranked at the top of the list with a 54% increase in population from 2017 to 2022.
Separate analysts predict Buckeye could reach a population of 1.5 million in 50 years.
