A 13-year-old student at Bales Elementary School was accused today of making a threatening phone call that sent Buckeye Elementary School into lockdown and drew in a police response.
Buckeye police were contacted just before noon by staff at Buckeye Elementary School who reported that someone called the school and said there were guns on campus.
The school went into lockdown, and officers checked for threats, according to Buckeye police. Nothing suspicious was found, so the lockdown was quickly lifted. A brief investigation led to Buckeye police submitting charges of interfering with or disrupting an educational institution to an unnamed 13-year-old, according to a police spokesperson.
InBuckeye will update the story when more information is available.
