The city announced yesterday that the results of the July 30 Primary Election have been officially canvassed. The prior assumed winners and run-off election results for District 2 have been confirmed.
- Curtis Beard will assume the seat of District 3 councilmember, winning in a close race against incumbent Michelle Hess who has held the seat for 12 years.
- Jamaine Berry and Ryan Belshee will return to vie for the District 2 seat on the November ballot in a run-off election. Neither received the required 51% majority vote to win in the primary.
- Mayor Eric Orsborn ran uncontested for his current seat.
- District 1 councilmember Tony Youngker ran uncontested for his current seat.
- Proposition 481 passed, approving a franchise agreement between the City of Buckeye and Southwest Gas.
Councilmembers and the mayor hold four-year terms. The new term will begin the first meeting of December.
