Buckeye Union High School Principal Joe Kinney has been placed on administrative leave pending investigation by law enforcement, according to a press release and email sent to BUHS parents today.
According to the release and email, signed by Buckeye Union High School District Superintendent Steve Bebee, Kinney's investigation is "unrelated to his work with the school or district."
Assistant Principal of Academics Kristin Koke will assume his duties as principal in the interim.
"Because this is a personnel matter, we cannot share further details at this time," reads the press release. "Our focus is on ensuring our students have access to an outstanding educational experience."
As of today, no charges have been filed against Kinney, according to Arizona Judicial Branch records.
