Buckeye Union High School senior Lizbeth Ortiz is stepping into her new elected role with wide-spread impact as vice president of the Future Business Leaders of America National Western Region.
Ortiz has been part of FBLA since her freshman year. This past summer, she assumed a year-long term as one of nine FBLA national officers who represent the organization's high-school members and began to campaign for higher leadership.
"At the FBLA National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Fla., Lizbeth campaigned tirelessly to thousands of students and was ultimately elected by members from the western region states," reads a press release from BUHS. "Lizbeth is profoundly grateful for this opportunity to serve the nation and has an array of initiatives planned for the FBLA western region."
Ortiz is involved in the National Honor Society, Buckeye Youth Council and is passionate about civic engagement. She is a varsity athlete in cross country and tennis. Ortiz is a 2024 Alexander Hamilton Scholar and intends to pursue a career in law.
"Lizbeth hopes to continue using her voice and passion in all her future endeavors, remaining eager to contribute positively to her community and beyond," reads the press release. "Lizbeth Ortiz’s story is one of perseverance, dedication and leadership. As she embarks on her term as the National Western Region Vice President of FBLA, there is no doubt that she will continue to inspire and lead with the same fervor that has brought her this far. Her journey is a shining example of what can be achieved through hard work, passion and a commitment to making a difference."
