Buckeye City Council unanimously approved the annexation of 2.5 acres in the city’s historic downtown activity center last night, following the second public hearing in as many weeks.
According to city documents, “The site is within the Downtown Activity Center general plan land use designation, which is intended to develop with a mix of uses complementary to the Downtown Specific Area Plan.”
The annexation request was submitted by Win Oil Co. Inc. The property, located at the northwest corner of East Baseline Road and East MC-85, was previously zoned as general commercial under Maricopa County and will retain similar zoning as regional commercial under the city.
No public comments were made during either hearing, held Aug. 26 and Sept. 2. City Council voted unanimously to approve the annexation.
