Buckeye Union High School Principal Joseph Kinney was arrested yesterday on sex crime charges.
This came the same day that the school announced in a press release and email to parents that Kinney was on administrative leave pending a criminal investigation.
No further information is available at this time. InBuckeye has reached out to the school for comment.
According to the Sept. 3 release from the school, signed by Buckeye Union High School District Superintendent Steve Bebee, Kinney's investigation is "unrelated to his work with the school or district." Assistant Principal of Academics Kristin Koke has assumed his duties as principal.
"Because this is a personnel matter, we cannot share further details at this time," reads the press release. "Our focus is on ensuring our students have access to an outstanding educational experience."
