A tense barricade situation in a Buckeye neighborhood ended late Monday night with one person in custody, police said.
The standoff began just before 8 p.m. near South Miller Road and West Dove Cove Drive after officers responded to reports of an armed individual inside a residence. Buckeye police attempted for hours to make contact with the man, deploying drones and using a loudspeaker to direct him to surrender.
Officers remained positioned outside the home well into the night, some stationed on armored vehicles with rifles pointed at the residence. Tactical equipment was used to secure the area, and residents were urged to remain indoors during the incident.
Buckeye Police Department spokesperson Carissa Planalp confirmed Tuesday morning that the standoff ended with the suspect taken into custody. The individual sustained minor injuries from less-lethal rounds used by officers before being detained.
No other injuries were reported, and it remains unclear whether any additional people were inside the home at the time.
Further details are expected to be released later Tuesday.
This is a developing story and will be updated.

I know someone who was pulled over by the buckeye police for speeding. He legally carried firearms. They asked if they could search his vehicle and he said no. They then sent a drug dog around his vehicle and said the dog detected drugs. They then began to illegally search his vehicle. He asked what probably cause did they have and the said they didn’t. They later let him go with a verbal warning for speeding when they found nothing. This person is a disabled vet who is a preacher and has never used any legal or illegal drugs in his life. Who tipped off the buckeye of that he had a gun and when did having a gun in AZ become illegal?
You can email me at [email protected] and I can investigate. I’ll need the party name and details.
