Woman injured, man charged in domestic dispute

A Buckeye man faces charges after a domestic dispute on June 4.

Thomas Warren was arrested for simple assault - domestic violence, criminal damage - domestic violence, and disorderly conduct fighting - domestic violence.

On Thursday night Buckeye police officers were dispatched to a home in the 23000 block of North Sundance Pkwy West for a report of a domestic disturbance.

The caller reported that her sister was assaulted by a man approximately two hours earlier.

The caller reported there was property damage, blood on the walls, and that her sister was struck multiple times.

While the officer was en route, the caller reported that the Thomas Warren had returned and was trying to get back in the residence.

She stated he was then attempting to leave in a white Ford F150.

The officer said that when he arrived he saw a white Ford F150 parked lot with its engine running.

“I observed a male in the driver's seat and confirmed him to be the defendant,” the officer stated in court documents. “I directed him to exit the vehicle and speak with me.”

The officer stated that the defendant told him he and the woman broke up tonight, but denied any physical confrontation.

“He was found to have an injury to his left hand,” court documents states. He said he spoke with the girlfriend, who had visible scratch marks and discoloration on her face and scratch marks on her arm.

According to court documents, the woman locked herself in her bedroom because and barricaded the door shut, but he broke the door down.

“I observed significant damage to the bedroom door and door frame,” the officer states in court documents.

The report states that the woman locked herself in the bedroom bathroom, but the man “used a butter knife to unlock the door.”

According to court documents, the officer states he observed spots of dried blood on the walls of the bedroom and bathroom, consistent with the injury to the defendant's hand.

“I placed the defendant under arrest for simple assault - domestic violence, criminal damage - domestic violence, and disorderly conduct fighting - domestic violence.

Warren was scheduled to appear for a hearing today in Buckeye Municipal Court.
