Vestar, a leading private owner and manager of shopping centers in the U.S., along with DMB Associates, has announced the notable lineup of anchor tenants for Verrado Marketplace. National retailers Target, Harkins BackLot, Safeway, Marshalls, Ross, and HomeGoods will open at the open-air retail center in late 2025. Verrado Marketplace will provide Buckeye residents with a premier shopping, dining, and socializing location.

With these premier anchor tenants, we are confident that Verrado will become a community hub for shopping, social interaction, and entertainment,” said Jeff Axtell, Executive Vice President of Development.
Harkins BackLot will introduce its latest concept at Verrado Marketplace. The 75,000-square-foot space will feature a luxury movie theater, a full-service restaurant and bar, a state-of-the-art sport viewing area, arcade games, a bowling alley, and private areas for events. This will be the first new build of the “BackLot” concept in Arizona.
Target will bring its newest store prototype to Verrado Marketplace, including various buy online, pick up in-store options. The 147,000-square-foot Target will be located on the southeast corner of the development, adjacent to Marshalls, Ross, and HomeGoods, which will occupy a combined 70,000 square feet.
“With our roster of premier anchor tenants in place, we are focused on attracting a dynamic mix of tenants, including upscale restaurants, local eateries, specialty stores, and neighborhood services,” Axtell added.
Verrado Marketplace, developed by Vestar and DMB Associates, will be a dynamic retail center at the entrance of Verrado, an 8,800-acre master-planned community in Buckeye. Verrado Marketplace will offer gathering spaces with a central lawn and ‘The District’, designed for concerts, community events. Also features is a space for social gatherings with a state-of-the-art performance stage. Families will enjoy the PopJet Splash Pad, and numerous dining options will enhance the shopping and leisure experience.

Verrado Marketplace will also introduce Vestar’s Sip & Stroll program, allowing customers 21 and older to enjoy alcoholic beverages from participating bars and restaurants while strolling through defined pedestrian areas of the property.
Vestar is committed to sustainability and will implement its GreenStar program at Verrado Marketplace. This includes energy-efficient building materials, solar power, water harvesting, cool roofs, artificial turf, LED lighting, recycling, composting, drip system landscaping, and EV charging stations.
Located at the entrance of DMB Associates’ 8,800-acre master-planned community with over 6,800 homes, Verrado Marketplace is expected to generate more than $50 million in tax revenue for Buckeye over the next decade and create nearly 1,500 permanent jobs. The project is estimated to contribute $1.8 billion to the local economy over ten years.
Verrado Marketplace is one of five new projects Vestar is developing in Arizona, alongside Vineyard Towne Center, Queen Creek Crossing, Laveen Towne Center, and The Shops at Lake Pleasant.
