National chicken tender chain Raising Cane’s has officially broken ground on its first Buckeye location along Verrado Way, marking another major addition to the city’s fast-growing commercial corridor.

The restaurant is under construction at 1080 N. Verrado Way, at the Buckeye Commons retail center, just south of Interstate 10 and west of Costco. Company representatives said the site is on track to open in summer 2026.

“Raising Cane’s is excited to continue our expansion in Phoenix and bring our ONE LOVE® craveable Chicken Finger Meals to Buckeye,” a company spokesperson said.

The Louisiana-based brand has become a late-night favorite with hours typically running from 9 a.m. until 1 or 2 a.m. In the past, Cane’s has celebrated grand openings with giveaways, including awarding 20 customers free Cane’s for a year at a Phoenix opening in 2024. Representatives did not confirm whether Buckeye’s debut would feature a similar promotion.

Founded in 1996, Raising Cane’s is named after co-founder Todd Graves’ yellow Labrador Retriever, Raising Cane. The chain now has more than 700 restaurants nationwide.

Buckeye’s new location adds to the development momentum along Verrado Way, where national retailers and dining options continue to cluster near the city’s hospital, freeway and growing neighborhoods.
