The Buckeye Police Department is asking the public for thoughts "on the regulation of electric bikes and scooters in our city," according to a statement released on Wednesday.
The department has created an online survey for residents to complete by March 1.
"The survey includes questions about proposed age limits and safety gear requirements," the statement reads. "Your responses will be shared with city leaders to help determine whether changes in regulations are necessary to improve safety and quality of life in Buckeye."
The state of Arizona regulates the use of electric bicycles and electric standup scooter the same as a bicycle, but does allow for additional regulation by a local authority, such as the City of Buckeye.
