One person died Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 at Verrado Way.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said that at about 6:41 a.m. today, the crash occurred on eastbound I-10 at milepost 120 in Buckeye when a 24-year-old Jasmine Blake from Tonopah struck the rear end of a "work truck."
The woman was transported from the scene and was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, officials said.
Officials with the ADPS told InBuckeye that the woman was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The highway opened a little after 9 a.m.

I wish they would widen the Verrado West bound I-10 exit ramp. It bottlenecks at the base just as you are exiting the I-10 which is extremely dangerous if the lane is backed up. I have almost been hit a few times by the speeding cars behind me who are also trying to get onto the exit ramp. With all the new business about to open right there, I think this is a critical issue that needs addressing ASAP.
Also, there are people confused by the large Verrado exit sign, people think that is an exit lane only to have it merge back into the 1-10. This is especially dangerous at night when some hot rod
speeds by and realizes the lane they thought was a ramp exit is actually about to end; twice recently I had someone try to force me into the next lane so they could merge back in before their lane ended.
Lastly, would it kill Arizona to have more and brighter street lamps? Lots of construction and retirees in this state that need that light at night.
