The City of Buckeye was the third fastest growing city by population behind Phoenix and Surprise, according to the Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity.
The Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity reports Maricopa County topped all Arizona counties in total numeric growth, thanks in part to population increases in Phoenix (11,793), Surprise (7,027), Buckeye (5,968) and Goodyear (5,875) during the 12 months from July 2024 to July 2025.
Standing at an estimated population of 119,317, Buckeye ranks as the 12th most populous city in the state’s 25 incorporated cities.
Statewide, Arizona added 97,044 residents over the 12-month period, with officials noting continued population-driven gains in the labor force and local economies.
The annual estimates are used by state and local governments to track demographic trends and plan for infrastructure, services and development.
