Mobile Home Fire Statistics:

Each year, Arizona experiences a significant number of mobile home fires. These fires can lead to devastating consequences, including loss of property and, tragically, loss of life. By taking proactive steps to prevent fires, you can help protect yourself, your loved ones, and your home.

Steps to Prevent a Mobile Home Fire:

  1. Install Smoke Alarms: Ensure you have working smoke alarms in every room and hallway. Test them monthly and replace the batteries at least once a year.
  2. Practice Safe Cooking: Never leave the kitchen unattended while cooking. Keep flammable items, like dish towels and paper, away from the stove.
  3. Electrical Safety: Do not overload electrical outlets. Ensure that all electrical wiring is up to code and avoid using extension cords for long-term use.
  4. No Smoking Indoors: If you smoke, do so outside and ensure cigarettes are fully extinguished before disposing of them.
  5. Keep Fire Extinguishers Handy: Have a fire extinguisher in the kitchen and another in a central location. Make sure everyone in the home knows how to use them.
  6. Create an Evacuation Plan: Plan and practice an escape route with all household members. Ensure that doors and windows can be easily opened in case of emergency.

Stay safe by following these guidelines, and remember, preparedness is key to preventing disaster.
