David Robinson II, the father of missing Buckeye geologist Daniel Robinson, announced he is running for Congress in South Carolina's District 2.
"David's journey from a successful independent contractor to a decorated U.S. Army veteran exemplifies his unwavering commitment to service and community," his website reads. "Motivated by a profound sense of duty and a passion for justice, David is now ready to bring his leadership to the U.S. House of Representatives."

David began his own search efforts and created the website PleaseHelpFindDaniel.com. According to this website, David believes there could have been foul play involved with his son's disappearance. David advocates for other families of missing people, which contributed to his decision to run for Congress. Improving these systems is part of his campaign goals, according to his website, with an aim to "streamline coordination, improve resource allocation and empower authorities to respond swiftly and effectively."
