Immigration advocacy organization warns of potential dairy farm ICE raids

Puente Human Rights Movement, a Phoenix-based migrant worker justice foundation, warned of potential Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids on dairy farms on social media over the weekend.

The notice comes after three days of forceful protests in and around Los Angeles centered on a response to recent controversial ICE arrests.

“We are hearing from multiple sources that ICE may be preparing for workplace raids as early as next week,” Puente posted. “High-risk areas could include construction sites, dairy farms, and workplaces that have been targeted before.”

Buckeye is home to multiple dairy farms, which reportedly employ migrant workers who may be targeted.

Federal HSI workers arrested 11 undocumented workers last week after executing a search warrant at a New Mexico dairy farm. HSI claims the workers obtained counterfeit green cards and used them to gain work illegally.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has vowed to punish and prosecute those who leak internal information about planned immigration operations to the media, like the inside sources mentioned in the social media post.

Anti-ICE protests broke out in Phoenix yesterday in solidarity with the demonstrations in Los Angeles. The rally, organized mainly by Socialist group PSL Phoenix, was peaceful and ended around 9 p.m.

According to reports, the LA branch of the socialist group spoke and assisted in leading the Los Angeles protests.

Puente has published a resource hotline for those who need guidance during a raid or who want to report one.

“Please stay alert, stay safe, and make sure you and your loved ones know your rights and have a plan in case of a raid,” it posted. “If you see enforcement activity or need accompaniment, call the Migra Watch hotline: (480) 506-7437.”
