A GoFundMe has been launched to help a Buckeye family after a rollover crash on Interstate 10 killed a grandfather and his two young grandsons and left two others hospitalized with serious injuries.
The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. Thursday on I-10 eastbound near Palo Verde Road. The Arizona Department of Public Safety said an SUV carrying five family members rolled over, and none of the passengers appeared to be wearing seatbelts or using child safety seats.
The victims were identified as Israel Vasquez, 48, and his grandsons, Emiliano, 9, and Carlos Antonio, 6. The boys died later at a hospital.
Vasquez’s wife was critically injured and is expected to undergo multiple surgeries. His 15-year-old son suffered a severe back injury, according to relatives.
Family members created a GoFundMe to assist with funeral expenses and ongoing medical costs.
DPS continues to investigate the cause of the crash and asks anyone with information to come forward.
