Five local residents were displaced Sunday afternoon after a garage fire forced them out of their home.
According to the Buckeye Fire-Medical-Rescue Department, crews responded to a residential structure fire at about 4:30 p.m. in the 25000 block of West Chipman Road in the Copper Falls area.

Firefighters, with assistance from Arizona Fire & Medical Authority, “initiated an aggressive fire attack while simultaneously conducting a primary search of the residence to ensure all occupants were accounted for,” according to a prepared statement from Buckeye Fire-Medical-Rescue.
While the fire was contained to the garage, the home sustained extensive damage.
No injuries were reported to residents or firefighters. Buckeye fire chaplains are assisting the occupants and coordinating support through the American Red Cross.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
