The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will close the Dean Road bridge over the Buckeye Canal (Project #: MB2401) for approximately 10 weeks, from 5 a.m. on Monday, 19 August, until 5 p.m. on Thursday, 31 October. The closure is necessary for bridge deck replacement, road leveling, and repaving work.
During this period, no travel will be permitted on the bridge or within 150 feet north and south of the canal. Northbound drivers will be detoured west on MC85, north on Rainbow Road, and east on Southern Avenue to continue north on Dean Road. Southbound drivers will be detoured west on Southern Avenue, south on Rainbow Road, and east on MC85 to continue south on Dean Road.
Additional road restrictions may be in place on Dean Road during construction. Motorists are advised to watch for work crews, follow all traffic control signs, and reduce speed in the work zone.
