City OKs hiring new city attorney

Tosca Henry is the City of Buckeye’s new city attorney.

Council members OK’d the move Tuesday as part of the approval of a consent agenda that included a number of other unrelated issues.

Henry has been the Assistant City Attorney since March 2023. Henry had previously served the city as interim city attorney. The city will pay Henry a salary of $280,000, according to city officials.

Former City Attorney K. Scott McCoy recently retired, necessitating the appointment of his replacement. In 2022 McCoy’s salary was $225,000.
