A free one-day art camp for autistic, special needs and first responder children is coming to Buckeye.
Yvonne Wan, creator of Focus Comic, plans to hold that class at Fire Station 707 at 20080 West Yuma Road. She is working with the city to schedule the event.
“I will be there teaching the children how to draw and design superhero vehicles or paint superhero vehicles,” she said. “The really young kids fill in the coloring sheets I created featuring Focus, the autistic superhero, or a Buckeye fire truck.”
Participants will get a free gift as well.
Focus Comic is a comic that features artwork by young autistic artists and also professionals. Spiderman artist Paul Mounts is working on the project as well.
The one-day class would start at 10 a.m. and finish at 5 p.m. The class will be open to children of police officers, military personnel and firefighters.

“We recently expanded that to include children of local heroes,” Wan said.
