Residents are invited to gather at Buckeye Municipal Airport on Saturday for an evening of live entertainment, family activities and a fireworks display celebrating both Independence Day and America's 250th anniversary.

The city's annual Independence Day Celebration will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. at Buckeye Municipal Airport, 3000 S. Palo Verde Road.

The free event will feature live music, food trucks serving a variety of All-American favorites, family-friendly games and crafts, and a fireworks finale scheduled to begin at approximately 8:30 p.m.

City officials encourage attendees to arrive prepared for the outdoor venue. Because the airport has no grass and limited shaded areas, guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating, stay hydrated and wear lightweight clothing suitable for summer temperatures.

Much of the event will be held on compacted gravel. While many mobility devices can travel across the surface, officials advise guests using wheelchairs or other mobility aids to consider the terrain when planning their visit.

For safety reasons, several items will not be permitted at the celebration, including alcohol, glass containers, pets (except service animals), grills or barbecues, personal fireworks or sparklers, drones and fire pits.

Motorists should also be aware of temporary road and parking restrictions around the airport during the event and are encouraged to plan ahead before arriving.

The evening will conclude with a fireworks display illuminating the Buckeye sky in honor of the nation's Independence Day celebration.
