It’s that magical time of year when the Buckeye Super Heroes gear up to bring holiday cheer to families in need. With capes donned and hearts full, these everyday heroes are calling on the community to join forces for A Christmas Cause, a city-wide initiative ensuring no child or family goes without during the holidays.
How You Can Help:
Donate Toys and Gift Cards
The community is collecting new toys for children aged 0-12 and gift cards for teens valued at $35. Please avoid gift cards from Walmart, Target, or Fry’s to ensure gifts are used for the intended recipients. All donations must be dropped off by Dec. 9 at one of these locations:
-
- Buckeye Police Department
- Buckeye Family Resource Center
- Senior Center
- Social Services
Register for Assistance
Families in need of gifts and food donations must pre-register from Nov. 12 to Nov. 22 at the Buckeye Family Resource Center. Registration requires documents such as a photo ID, proof of income and proof of residency. This ensures the program can reach those who need it most.
Volunteer Your Time
Volunteers are essential to making this event a success. Help is needed on Dec. 14 from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. to distribute toys, set up donation boxes, and assist with registration. Whether delivering boxes or helping at tables, your time and effort will make a huge impact.
Additional Needs:
The event also welcomes donations of board games, books, gift wrap and other items. Supplies should be brought on Dec. 13 during setup to ensure they are ready for distribution.
Buckeye’s Super Heroes are expecting to serve over 700 children this year and they aim to make this holiday season special for families in need, encouraging community members to participate through donations or volunteering to support local children and families.
