A man shot by a Buckeye Police Department officer early this morning was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to his arm, according to Buckeye Police.
The department reported the officer-involved shooting early this morning after an officer responded to a call about a fight near Rainbow Road and Sundance Parkway.
“Around 3:45 a.m. Buckeye police received a call of a fight involving multiple people at a home on Ashleigh Masrie Drive,” police said in a prepared statement released to InBuckeye.

Neither the name of the man shot nor the name of the officer has been released.
“The first arriving officer saw a man armed with a gun,” Police said. “Shortly after, an officer involved shooting occurred.”
According to police the man was shot in the arm and was injured enough that the officer “immediately applied a tourniquet to stop the bleeding as emergency crews arrived.”
The man, age 40, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The officer was not
Injured, police said.
The shooting is under investigation by the West Valley Investigative Response Team with
Glendale police serving as the lead.
