Buckeye launches ‘Business Builder’ program to boost local entrepreneurs

The city’s Entrepreneurship Outreach Network, launched in 2015 by the Community Services Department, has officially transitioned to the Economic Development Department and been rebranded as the Buckeye Business Builder.

City officials say the new program will build on EON’s decade-long legacy of providing workshops, networking events, and resources for local entrepreneurs. The rebranded effort aims to expand education, mentorship, and community support to help small businesses launch and grow.

As part of the expansion, the city announced the Buckeye Business Builder Startup Academy, a new 10-week program beginning this fall. Sessions will cover topics such as business planning, marketing, financial management, and licensing. Classes start Sept. 2 at Buckeye City Hall East, with registration open until Aug. 22. The program is free but space is limited.

The city has also launched the Buckeye Business Builder Speaker Series, held every third Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m. at the Coyote Library (21699 W. Yuma Rd., Suite 116). The free series will feature a new local business owner each month, sharing honest stories of success, struggle, and growth, along with practical insights, lessons learned, and networking opportunities. The next series begins Sept. 16.
