Buckeye 4-year-old Hope Weaver brought home a national title after winning first place at the All-American Girl Pageant in Las Vegas July 17.
This was Weaver’s third year doing nationals in the “Tiny Miss” division. For the past two years, she was first runner up.
The pageant is a part of the All-American Girl program and participants range from ages 0 to 26 to compete at preliminary, state and the national levels.
The youth development organization is dedicated to promoting positive pageantry, focusing on natural beauty, poise, public speaking and personality, according to the organization’s website.
Participating in the program has allowed the kindergartener to come out of her shell, said her mother Savanannah Weaver.
“It’s been amazing to see her blossom,” Savannah said.
Pageantry is a family affair. Savannah was in the pageant circuit as a child and won Oregon Young Miss in 2011.
Grandparents Steven and Lois Weaver, who own Cuppa Yo Buckeye, also help. Lois makes all of Weaver’s costumes and “Papa Steve” is her escort.
Throughout Weaver’s year of reign, she will represent both Arizona and the United States. That includes participating in charitable and leadership activities alongside her fellow titleholders.
