The Arizona Rattlers and Buckeye-based nonprofit Girasol AZ have partnered to offer a special ticket rate for families interested in attending a Rattlers game and donating to the neurodiverse community.
“The Arizona Rattlers are hosting a fundraiser for us May 10 at the Desert Diamond Arena,” said Gennieva Mendoza, Girasol's founder. “It would mean the absolute world if you could come together to cheer on the rattlers and support our cause. We need your help creating a more inclusive world for our neurodivergent families.
A portion of each ticket sold supports Buckeye-based Girasol, a non-profit created to bring inclusive, family-friendly events designed with the needs of children on the autism spectrum in mind.
Families interested in purchasing tickets for the May 10 event can click here. Tickets start at $15, and $5 from every ticket purchased goes back to Girasol AZ.
The nonprofit’s founder, Mendoza, is a mother of two children on the autism spectrum. She has experienced firsthand the challenges families face, especially within communities where cultural stigmas surrounding behavioral health persist.
She founded Girasol to offer inclusive, family-friendly events but also parent support groups, and educational opportunities tailored to minority families.
She hopes she can make a difference and break barriers in her community.
Girasol events are ideal for neurodivergent families who may find traditional environments overwhelming. Your support helps them continue making these inclusive, joyful experiences possible.
